You will be cruising on Assarain II our Sigma 38 with a professional Yachtmaster Instructor and four other crew.

This cruise will involve two challenging 24 hour passages from Kinsale to the Scillies and then from the Scillies to Brittany or vice versa. After these passages you will have the opportunity to explore the renowned Scilly Isles and to coastal hop along the spectacular Breton coast. This cruse is approx 300nm one way.

This will be a fantastically challenging and enjoyable cruise.

Who:

This would be an ideal introduction to offshore sailing for those sailors with coastal experience. As the cruise is skippered by a Yachtmaster Instructor there is always expert tuition at hand. This is also an ideal opportunity to gain some mileage if working towards Yachtmaster coastal certification. The Scillies and Brittany offer a changeling cruising ground with rocks and reefs dotted all over the coast ensuring that your pilotage and tidal calculations get a good refreshing.

Fly into Lorient Aug 30th arrive back Kinsale September 6th.

This price includes all food while onboard, the hire of leggings and jacket if needed. Flights not included.

Weather:
If the weather does not look favorable an alternative destination will be chosen, possibly Wales or the West coast of Ireland. Or a full refund will be issued.

A new development this season to assist the skipper will be a 1st mate who will be selected from previous pupils of the school who have attained Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster Offshore through Sovereign Sailing. The place will be offered at a heavily reduced rate in exchange for taking on the responsibility of a watch leader and helping with the running of the boat. This is a great opportunity to ease you into skippering on offshore passage.

Lorient Airport is very close to Lorient City and is well serviced by trains and buses.

Saturday 30th August will be crew change over day, Aer Arran have flights to and from the following destinations on this date.
