Introduction to Racing weekends.

Crosshaven November-December league

Every weekend from 31st October to 5th December we will be entering the RCYC winter racing series. This event is sailed within the confines of Cork Harbour which gives an exciting and tactical race course.

Sovereign Sailing is offering you an ideal opportunity to join our winter racing clinics and learn new sailing skills.

We will be focusing on the three main areas boat handling, crew work and tactics. In order to be successful on the race course these three main areas need to be spot on.

This training series is ideal for those sailors with some sailing experience however little or no racing experience is required.

Join us for one or multiple weekends, if you sign up for a few weekends we will ensure that you are trained in a different position each weekend and offer you a worthwhile discount.

Friday evening: For those who are travelling from outside Cork, you have the opportunity to stay on board Friday & Saturday night.

Saturday 09:00-17:30: On the water race training. You will be allocated a position and trained to work this position and to work effectively within a small crew. Smooth team work is the main aim.

Sunday 09:30-11:30: A tactical look at the day's race course with some final on the water manoeuvres.

Sunday 12:25: First Gun with the race taking approx two hours.

Sunday after race: de-brief and coffee or pint if you fancy!!
