This certified sailing course provides the first step towards learning how to sail a yacht. During the four sessions you will get a feel for steering a yacht (known as helming), how to operate the sails and gain wind awareness, rope work and safety at sea.

Course outcome

After successfully completing this sailing course you will have the ability and knowledge to crew a yacht under direction of an experienced skipper. Upon successful completion you will also be issued with an Irish Sailing 'Start Sailing' Certificate.

 

Additional information

This course is run over 4 evening sessions in Kinsale Harbour. There is no previous sailing experience needed and all clothing and equipment will be provided.
